Thank you @FWhitfield for giving space in your program @CNNnewsroom to discuss not just what is happening in the U.S., but also how to get out of the mess we are in. And a special joy and privilege to appear with @milleridriss !

The storming of the U.S. Capitol was a shocking reflection of what happens when unresolved conflicts fester for years, extremist views are fueled by polarizing media, & leaders choose to exploit divides rather than reconcile them. Our statement: bit.ly/3nz79X2
NYS Bar Association statement is scathing. Says Giuliani will have a chance to respond but that they've received hundreds of complaints about him.
Five days after the assault on the Capitol, it feels as if: We're underestimating the threat of further violence. Republicans aren't rejecting Trumpism root and branch. Conservatives aren't engaged in serious rethinking. Some Democrats lack a real sense of urgency. I am alarmed.
Decent Republicans should: 1. Demand Trump resign. 2. Support impeachment and conviction. 3. Support Pence invoking the 25th amendment. And Vice President Pence should announce that his first act as president will be to give several Capitol police officers the Medal of Freedom.
Excellent explanation

Wonderfully touching sentiment. At least someone in the Party still has some class and ability to show humanity & shared grief can transcend mere politics.
I’m terribly sorry. Please know I am thinking about you.
