Well, that was an hour of television that has happened and we have watched it.

Somewhere in the multiverse there’s a universe where Susan Hall won London. In it, @SBarrettBar blocked me and hid my post asking if he’d have posted this if Sadiq Kahn had won and what his concerns about postal votes are.
Truss: “There is a divide between those in the M25 and those on the ground.” Reader, she lives in a conservation area in Greenwich. That is very much inside the M25 and very much not 'on the ground' #popcon
👀 Liz Truss tells PopCon: “Too many colleagues (ie Tory MPs) look to be popular at London dinner parties… “People want us to deal with immigration, they think the wokery is nonsense…. “There is a divide between those in the M25 and those on the ground.”
The nation likes The National Trust far more than it likes Jacob Rees-Mogg. (source: @YouGov)
The National Trust regrettably dislikes our nation.
Yes. Those policies will definitely win back all those seats who intend to elect a party that - *checks notes* - doesn’t advocate any of those things. The Tories need to realise they need to actually be appealing to people who aren’t themselves.
I've written in the @Telegraph this evening on the latest dreadful polling for my party, and what we need to do to head off the looming disaster. telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/…
“This went through on Labour votes.” @andreajenkyns telling porkies.
I have voted against gov on the Net Zero mandate; which aims to tell people which cars they can & can't buy! This went through on Labour votes. We need to protect freedom of choice which is at the heart of why I am a Conservative. 381 Ayes 37 Noes Actions speak louder than words
It isn't cos they're not... #potholes
Following today’s announcement, this could be the last photo of a politician pointing at a pothole. We’re investing £8 billion to improve your local roads and fix potholes for the long term.
I wonder how long until the @ukhomeoffice travel advice page for #Rwanda is updated to be a bit more effusive and positive gov.uk/foreign-travel… #rwandapolicy
When @redditchrachel's replacement as Housing Minister is confirmed, there will have been as many Housing Ministers in 2 years (since Nov 2021) as there were in the entirety of the last Labour government (1997-2010) - 8.
I’ve been asked to step down from my role as Housing Minister. Disappointed and was looking forward to introducing the Renters Reform Bill to Committee tomorrow and later the Leasehold and Freehold Bill. It has been a privilege to hold the position and I wish my successor well.
Being homeless is never a “lifestyle choice”. Actively trying to become the worst person in the world absolutely is. Be better.
The British people are compassionate. We will always support those who are genuinely homeless. But we cannot allow our streets to be taken over by rows of tents occupied by people, many of them from abroad, living on the streets as a lifestyle choice. 1/4
A superbly detailed (& highly entertaining) demolition of one of the thickest conservative voices on housing (Simon Jenkins) by one of the most rational and intelligent (@rcolvile). We need more voices like this on the right of centre need to get anywhere on housing
Only two things are truly infinite. The universe, and the errors and hypocrisy of Simon Jenkins when writing about housing and planning. Yes, he's done another column. Let's dive in. (1/?) theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
"Normally only countries have constitutions" Literally every local authority has one. And that well known 'country' the Conservative Party public.conservatives.com/organisation-d…
I'm all for this change. But it's symbolic of what's so wrong with the NHS that it has its own "constitution" set from the centre. Normally only countries have constitutions, & the NHS isn't one, though it is true that it spends as much money as some small countries.
Best thing about this is that he'll have had to use the app, connected to his debit card, to get in. So he paid twice. Absolutely moronity here from Piers Corbyn. Plus there's literally a Sainsbury's in the background that takes cash.

I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen or read or heard anything by Lord Frost that isn’t thick. Not quite John Redwood levels, but I honestly don’t understand why anything he says is taken seriously.
David Frost, "Rising temperatures (from climate change) are likely to be beneficial.. We can adjust to the perfectly manageable consequences of slowly rising temperatures." Frost also says the cost to mitigate climate change is 1-2% of GDP. Brexit now costs the UK 5.5% of GDP.…
I am very much looking forward to all of the @GregHands interviews tomorrow saying that 3 resounding by-election losses "are a message from the public that they want us to get on with the job of delivering the PM's 5 priorities" that the public literally just voted against.
