Lady in Red. Times two. Fabulous evening at the Rice @ShepherdSchool 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Is this a perfect Houston fall day or what? Low to mid 80s with a cooling breeze. And concluding with a lively Night Market at @asiasocietytx.
This pretty much captures my sentiments on this first evening of standard time. Can’t take those pre-sunset walks in Hermann Park after class anymore!
Today would have been my dad’s 99th birthday. And it’s been just over 20 years since he passed away less than a year after I moved to Rice & Houston. And yet each year I find myself missing him more, not less. Happy Birthday, Dad.
And it’s a beautiful perfect 68 degree morning in Houston!! Fall has arrived. (Never mind that 88 degree high. Fall for us.)
A very productive day in Dallas, marred only by Love Field & DFW ground stop resulting from telecom outage. Glad I got back home in time for this.
One of the great things about Lea Salonga’s concert at Miller Theatre was that she had music for all ages and generations. I confess this is my favorite. But some of the younger folks really got into it—dancing in the aisles.
It is a VERY full and enthusiastic house for Lea Salonga at Miller Theatre in @HermannPark !!!
The @Texas2036 report for the 2025 Legislative Session is out! It chronicles the important progress we helped enable in the 2025 session across a range of issues: education & workforce, water infrastructure, health care, child care, housing & more. texas2036.org/wp-content/upl…
Great and diverse Houston crowd for Texas county music concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre in @HermannPark this evening. Here’s a snippet from the West Texas Exiles.
Breakfast in the park this morning. (Theirs, not mine.)
Shakespeare is killing it in Houston! Thanks to @UHTheatreDance for bringing 9 outstanding performances to Miller Outdoor Theatre in @HermannPark. This evening’s packed performance marked conclusion of the Houston Shakespeare Festival! Great turnout. A fantastic gift to Houston.
Went to @Costco to buy some wine (& other health items like Gruyere & prosciutto). Used self-checkout, but wine required a cashier to come do age check & enter my birth date. Without asking, she put in a date in 1999, & said: "That's about right, isn't it?" I love Costco people!
Great to see Jarrett Dillard mentioned TWICE on this list! Jarrett was an extraordinary @RiceFootball receiver. After a brief pro career he completed a law degree at South Texas and is now an accomplished attorney. A shining example of a student athlete! foxsports.com/stories/colleg…
