real life is far stranger than fiction so I'm trying to write fiction that is strange enough to be believable.

What we are seeing now is something political commentators have observed since before WW2: you go far enough Left or far enough Right and you come around in a big circle and meet in totalitarianism. The style will be different but the end result will be the same.
Know your parasites.

They're paid nearly 100k. They eat in a subsidised canteen. They claim heating expenses while slashing the winter fuel payment. They get another home free of charge. And now they're getting another raise. Our political class are the real freeloaders.
BREAKING: MPs' pay will rise by 2.8% for the next financial year, the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority has confirmed
I find myself loathing Starmer as much as Thatcher, maybe more. Imagine that.
Hello, @Keir_Starmer, you won't remember me, but this is you & I campaigning some time back. I was the guy in the wheelchair who asked whether you'd protect we #disabled after 14 years of Tory persecution. You told me yes. You've betrayed me. @leicesterliz @RachelReevesMP

Opposing the removal of £6 billion from disabled people and some of the most vulnerable in society isn’t about being left or right—inside or outside Labour. It’s about basic decency.
The Labour Party is a lost cause — it is now irredeemably neoliberal, shackled to the agenda set by the wealthy and corporates. It is no longer a project worthy of support by workers and their families. It is time that trade unions seriously reconsidered their affiliation.
Prime Minister backs disability benefit cuts bit.ly/3XGUkOZ as Labour discovers that taking money off millions on low incomes is easier than taking it from the better off.

The average MP is claiming more than £40,000 in personal benefits, including for ridiculous things like new phones, electricity, heating and food. Which everyone has to purchase. Why don't we talk about this benefit fraud?
Ronald Reagan: “We should beware of the demagogues who are willing to declare a Trade war against our friends, weakening our economy, our national security, and the entire free world, all while cynically waving the American flag…”
Who’s your favorite Bass Player? (not named John Entwistle or Geddy Lee)
Noticed the MAGAs are a bit quiet. I wonder if they’re beginning to realise just how big a mistake they’ve made voting for a greedy, self serving Russian asset?
