How urban farms can make cities more livable and help feed America
Urban gardens are extraordinarily powerful tools that can improve food security, lower temperatures, and create invaluable gathering spaces.
We're not aware of any official plan to require households to reapply for SNAP. Any change to the application process would require Congress to amend existing law. Most households need to submit info every 6 months to maintain their benefits, but this is NOT a reapplication.
We showed up at @masscdcs Annual Meeting alongside community development leaders committed to solving some of the toughest challenges facing our neighborhoods. We were especially proud to cheer on our teammate Andrealis Martinez, honored with a Rising Star Award @fairmountcollab!

No one knows when partial #SNAPbenefits will land. Small businesses are already feeling the shortfall. This is a serious disruption destabilizing the small businesses that anchor local food access. Help close the gap. Text WEGOTUS to 44-321. cbsnews.com/boston/news/bo…

Right. This will not just affect the most vulnerable of our population but businesses that accept SNAP will lose billions of dollars. This includes supermarkets, grocery stores, urban farms, pharmacies, farmers markets, and even some online stores.
Cutting SNAP funding will not only starve people, it will devastate the economy. For every $1 spent on SNAP, $1.50 goes back into the economy. The people going hungry will suffer first, but the ripple effects will be enormous.
