Brilliant presentation by @scrennie about #PsychologicalSafety in surgical training. There is a common misconception that psychological safety leads to increased error because trainees no longer fear making mistakes. But the reverse is true 👇. #MedEd #RACS23

Excellent plenary session at #ICRE2019 - safe environment for speaking up - who determines what is safe? Just saying it doesn’t guarantee safety!

Simulation including and especially in situ simulation = a powerful tool to improve skills. Like most powerful tools, not without hazard as described in our recent editorial. Essential to mitigate these risks !! journals.lww.com/simulationinhe…

Excited to be Presenting at #emba2018 about #patientinvolvement in #assessment. Great opening speech by Marco about the “paralysing hierarchy” in medicine, the need for senior clinicians to show their own vulnerabilities, and people to work and understand each other as one team.

I want to highlight comments by @sherbino in latest #KeyLimePodcast - let’s stop using the terms summative & formative assessment and just call it assessment or learning. Maybe the same for simulation terminology: sim for learning, sim for assessment, sim for systems?

Sounds so simple and obvious from @andrewjtagg but sometimes these things overlooked. Medical trainees should be treated with respect - not just because they will be looking after us someday - but because they are part of the team. Everyone wants to be, and should be, seen. 👇🏼
