I asked #Muttaqi as to why are Afghan young girls and women barred from schools and education institutes when other islamic nations and ideologies including Iran, Syria, Saudi or Deoband educate their girls. And also if he regrets the brutal killing of journalist #DanishSiddiqui

War with Afghanistan will not benefit the people of Pakistan. War never does. It was a mistake to facilitate & celebrate Taliban’s return to power. It is a blunder to get into full-fledged war with them. Have warned about it for years. foreignaffairs.com/articles/afgha…

Muttaqi says the flag is the flag of Jihad, and that Taliban government now controls the Embassy in Delhi "100%". (This is not factually true. Staff here still allied to Republic and flag outside today of the Republic.)

Taliban FM Muttaqi says in talks, EAM Jaishankar has agreed to set up embassy in Kabul,India to accept Taliban diplomats in Delhi. Significantly press conference at embassy on Delhi's Shantipath with Taliban's Islamic Emirates flag brought in, while Republic flag flies outside

We welcome the Editors Guild of India’s strong and principled condemnation of this disturbing episode. It bears repeating that India does not recognize the Taliban—nor does the rest of the international community. Therefore, the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961)…

What is even more ridiculous is that the Taliban FM is allowed to bring their abhorrent and illegal discrimination against women to India, as the government hosts the Taliban delegation with full official protocol. This isn't pragmatism, this is supplication.

No Woman Journalist invited to the press conference by Muttaqi. No reference to the horrible plight of Afghan girls and women under Taliban regime in opening remarks of EAM Jaishankar or the joint statement issued after talks with Muttaqi. Muttaqi getting the red carpet welcome…

Blame, where blame is due. Both the governments in Nepal and India deserve to be called out. Timely report by @ThePrintIndia on the 2nd order effect of Agneepath impacting Gurkha recruitment in Indian Army. Debates aside this must be resolved.

In Nepal, young dreams of joining the Indian Army are crashing. For the first time since 1815, no Nepal-domiciled Gorkha has enlisted. The reason? India’s Agnipath scheme.
