Skrmetti is one of seven state AGs that sent a seven-page letter addressed to the P4 commissioners and CSC CEO Bryan Seeley arguing against the participant agreement. Those AGs that also signed include New Jersey, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Texas. Letter below:
Tennessee AG Jonathan Skrmetti has come out against the College Sports Commission's participant agreement circulating at Power Four schools in recent weeks. This comes just days after Texas lawmakers have cautioned their institutions from signing the agreement as well.
#Tulane LB Sam Howard on Jon Sumrall continuing with the team until season ends: "Not having him coach us was not an option. I knew it wasn’t an option for him, and it definitely wasn’t an option for us. He loves us, we love him and we would not have it any other way."

College sports leaders like Greg Sankey have long decried the professionalization of college sports. But as their College Football Playoff gets upended by Lane Kiffin’s departure, they’ve ignored the real threat to their product. My @YahooSports column. sports.yahoo.com/college-footba…
Per @Brett_McMurphy In 2026, every Power 4 team will play 10 power conference opponents except the Big Ten's Indiana, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers & Washington...Then why are we having this conversation about scheduling P4 in non-con? EVERY P4 SCHOOL EXCEPT FOR THOSE LISTED…

Sounding the alarm about future nonconference schedules over Alabama moving a game against South Florida is a choice.
Alabama is moving the USF game (not canceling it) from 2026 to 2032. Florida State, Ohio State (2x), Oklahoma State (2x), Notre Dame (2x), Georgia Tech (2x), Boston College (2x), Arizona (2x), Minnesota (2x) and Virginia Tech (2x) still remain on its future schedules.
Get ready to see this happen all over the sport. If it’s only about how many wins ya have and not who you’re playing and where you’re playing you’re gonna see every AD make these same moves. Kiss meaningful non conference games in late August and early September goodbye. Cupcakes…
Celebrating 28 years of Sooner Magic ✨ Thank you, Joe!
You know, it’s possible Saban gave Kiffin bad advice because he doesn’t realize the college football he dominated is never coming back. LSU still has inherent advantages over Ole Miss but we’re still trying to figure out the current, adjusted value of those advantages.

There's no sport like college football 😂
As the first members of the Kiffin contingent, including brother Chris, board the plane, Ole Miss fans at Oxford Airport loudly boo the departing group.
Let’s go! No one better @CoachGolding! Excited for the next few weeks and for the future of @OleMissFB. Players and staff ready to go win a natty! #CFP

Sagarin has N Dakota St ranked higher than both ACC champ game participants.
So, according to reports, Lane Kiffin wants to: 1) Leave for LSU, make $12M a year; 2) Take some of Ole Miss staff; 3) Stay at Ole Miss through the playoff, recruiting his players to LSU all the while; 4) Coach Ole Miss in playoff. Should Ole Miss pay him to coach at LSU too?😏
