Zelda: TOTK is a fantastic example of building a game. However, it's also a great game about building and making tools that we use to interact and interface with the world. Let's delve into how Link is an unlikely hero of the principles of design and the secret of great UIs! 🧵

Suddenly, the world of design systems stood still, silent. What a tremendous loss for @newskitdesign that those who made the decision very likely don't understand (but oh they will). Let's get @gerireid the exposure she deserves when looking for the next gig :)

It's with much sadness my @newskitdesign adventure is at an end, we’ve been made redundant. I’m devastated for my lovely team. So I'm looking for a new design or accessibility lead role, ideally on a #designSystem gerireid.com DMs open and RTs welcome!

Just reached out to @nextjs for help on making the 🧁Vanilla Extract next-plugin more consistent. It would be great if anyone involved with Next could help out 🤞 github.com/vercel/next.js…

Love this thread on design handoffs. Spending this week meeting all the designers across the company reinforced the importance of getting acquainted with everyone you work with. So many different personalities can live within a single discipline.

"Handoff" isn't a bad thing... The problem is if you have ONE standardized handoff process ❌ Because how you work with engineers depends on WHO you are working with 👇

Tailwind is great for getting up and running for small projects - but if you’re taking the time to author your app in TS, you might as well go all-in on type-safety

The solution? Vanilla Extract CSS. More: vanilla-extract.style

Watching @developerLoper talk about Storybook at one of the next to last sessions of @codemash. A lot of knowledge and authority here.

When your carefully curated, cosy-casual yet professional attire exactly matches the color of the conference swag 🙄

So excited to be heading out to @codemash to speak about @storybookjs and vanilla-extract!

Tired: deleting tracking parameters on links to tweets. Wired: scrambling tracking urls randomly in hopes of screwing up internal logging somewhere.

This article has been doing the rounds today. At the end it talks about a few drawbacks of static CSS-in-JS libraries, with Vanilla Extract named as one, but I just wanted to highlight that none of the points raised actually apply to Vanilla Extract. dev.to/srmagura/why-w…

I want to give Tailwind another chance, but after getting used to a strongly typed style system, it's incredibly hard to go back
