Just dropped a new blog post! 🚀 After spending 8 hours a day in the terminal as a DevOps engineer, I found the perfect tool: Ghostty. It combines the best features, hassle-free, and it’s open-source! Check out my config & why it might become your favorite terminal too:…

He’s controversial and unfiltered, but this post nails what open-source is really about: the joy of seeing your project used by many, without expecting massive rewards. Not the most humble guy—he’s a millionaire—but his take is on point: 'The rewards come from happy programmers…

Today and tomorrow, I’m attending DevcontainersDay and DevSecOpsDay in Bologna! 🎉 These are my first conferences post-COVID, so I’m excited to dive into some great content and meet up with the community again. If you’re attending, let’s connect! #DevcontainersDay #DevSecOpsDay

Just found ttl.sh—a completely free Docker registry that doesn’t require any authentication! Perfect for quick testing purposes without the hassle of setting up your own registry or dealing with credentials. Remember to tag your images with an expiration time…

Been diving into Unikernels recently. They offer higher security, a smaller memory footprint, and speed over containers by coupling the OS and app. Ideal for cloud providers & IoT, but complex for Kubernetes setups. Are they a complement to VMs/containers or more? 🤔 More info:…

I’ve been switching between the same Tmux panes & windows every day, so I found Tmuxinator to automate sessions with predefined layouts. It cuts down on repetitive tasks & customizes windows, panes, and commands. alfonsofortunato.com/zettelkasten/t… Have you tried it? #Tmux #DevTools

🚨 New Blog Post! 🚨 Tried out the free version of VMware Workstation Pro 17 by installing Arch Linux with Sway as the tiling window manager. I cover VMware config, Wayland setup, installing Sway, and customizing Waybar! alfonsofortunato.com/posts/arch-lin… #Linux

I've discovered a beautiful tool for creating CW by code: github.com/sinaatalay/ren…. It allows you to create idempotent CVs and version them through Git. I've always struggled to keep track of my CV history, and this tool has solved that hassle for me. Worth giving it a try.

I replaced "cat" with "bat" in Unix commands to render the output of a file. Check out this post for a full reference: alfonsofortunato.com/zettelkasten/b…

I replaced the combo of oh-my-zsh and powerlevel10k with Starship. Starship is written in Rust, making it significantly faster than oh-my-zsh. Check out how to configure starship here: alfonsofortunato.com/zettelkasten/s…

This platform has slowly turned into a bot fiesta. Every day, I get strange requests from phantom accounts (clearly bots). When will proper control be put in place? #Disappointed

I chose to install Arch Linux the hard way, from scratch. This approach forced me to think about every step, turning the installation process into a valuable learning experience. Check out the medium article for step by step guide: medium.com/@alfor93/intro…

Arch Linux installation with Encryption, LVM, GNOME on VirtualBox: The Hard way

Introduction

just got back from a team-building event, and I’m tired but feeling rewarded. Being tired doesn’t always mean something negative. The key is distinguishing between "bad tired" and "good tired." This one has definitely been the satisfying kind. #LifeHacks #WorkFromHome

I’ve been using LVM for years, and I have to say, it’s been a lifesaver in most situations. However, I’ve never really explored other alternatives, and I want to fill that knowledge gap. Are there any valid alternatives to LVM? #Linux #DevOps

I’ve just installed Arch Linux and now I’m wondering which window manager to install. I’m leaning towards Hyprland. What are your thoughts? Should I switch to KDE or Sway instead? #Linux #DevOps

Every day, I’m amazed how, despite being imperfect as humans, we were still able to design such a well-architected system like Linux. Thanks, Linus! 💪 #Linux

We must change our minds and strive for a better leader who supports us — even when the boat is sinking. I would rather work in a lovely place than a high salary toxic environment! linkedin.com/feed/update/ur…
