I realize you just became a Catholic, like, a minute ago but the "Deus Vult" is NOT a "Christian motto." It is a throwback to the rally call in 1096 and Urban II's speech that led to the First Crusade (I'm a medieval history nerd, you are not). It's never been widely used... 1/

They're attacking Pete Hegseth for having a Christian motto tattooed on his arm. This is disgusting anti-Christian bigotry from the AP, and the entire organization should be ashamed of itself.

Factory owner in Springfield, Ohio says he has 30 Haitian workers and wishes he had 30 more. He says that unlike Americans in the area, they show up to work on time, stay by their machines, and don’t have a drug problem.

Whenever I write about gun control, I get the most *angry* responses from fellow Christians. The hold that guns have on some of us is heartbreaking, not just disagreement. Vitriol. nytimes.com/2023/03/28/opi…

I’m reposting this video I made in 2020, trying to summarize racial history for our small-ish podcast audience. To my surprise, the vid was shared viewed 7M times. I was thanked, sometimes tearfully. I was also called … youtu.be/AGUwcs9qJXY

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.—Romans 14:17 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.—Romans 14:19 Blessed are the peacemakers.

I’d much rather be surrounded by people that respectfully disagree with me than people who agree with me yet consistently dehumanize and fight against those with whom we disagree. #makedecencygreatagain #loveyourneighbor

Part of comforting another is recognizing the various aspects of grief and normalizing them. When a mourner fears they are losing their mind as they cycle through various kinds of grieving, the comforter can assure them that they are not insane but this is part of grieving.

Yes! We had a special time of discussion and prayer led by one of our pastors about what Juneteenth is, why it’s so important, and why the body of Christ should be both celebrating it and allowing it to spur us into action for racial justice.

My response to people who thoughtlessly say, "Well, this is what happens when you take God out of schools. We need to put God back in schools!"

What does "God back in schools" look like to you? You think God IS NOT in schools now? Is God not Omnipresent and Omnipotent? How can God be "kicked out of schools"? How is that even possible? "God will not stay where he is not welcomed." Oh really? Where is THAT written?

We don't have to fight the culture. Jesus has already won. Therefore, we can live with humility, gentleness, and patience. Put down your boxing gloves and pick your cross.

Give your life to something constructive, develop an appetite for beauty, make good friends, read good literature, show much kindness, love real people not just the idea of people, and pay *very little* attention to social media. This might be a helpful recipe these days.

Some of y’all don’t understand how doctrinal control works. When you have people you know deeply love & highly esteem Scripture & want with all their hearts to live by it, you conflate your interpretation of Scripture with inerrancy of Scripture and you’ve got them in your palm.
