In case you were wondering...Circus Historian is a real job. If you need me, I will be in the fetal position questioning some life choices.

The new approach? All discipline needs to include Restorative...Reflective...Instructional components. #dontsuspendme!

“The light bulb wasn’t build by continually improving the candle. It came from completely approaching the problem differently.” #dontsuspendme

Disciple can be about teaching executive functioning skills, supporting, providing opportunities to make amends, and build relationships! #dontsuspendme

Hattie’s research shows us that suspensions have negative growth on student learning. Our job is to teach...all kids...all the time! It is our only purpose! Why would we willingly take actions to undo that? #dontsuspendme

How can we, as a school, define our why behind reducing suspensions...keeping them in class, ending the school to prison pipeline, being the reason they come to school? #dontsuspendme

Do we see suspension as a choice that potentially paved a future path for a student, or as merely as a consequence? #dontsuspendme

We wouldn’t send a student struggling to read home, and expect he would return a reader. Why do we do we expect that with behavior? #dontsuspendme

Too many times we try and measure student engagement by quantity of work produced rather than quality of work produced.

To target hopeful young strivers who grew up here is wrong, because they’ve done nothing wrong. My statement: facebook.com/barackobama/

Fantastic reminder as the school year starts. Especially since we adults sometimes don't set the best example! npr.org/sections/healt…
