The thing is that peoples experience Is. Their. Own. Just let them be already. I totally understand the value and need for identity politics. But it also breaks my heart. Can we not just fucking give everyone else a break for a minute and just focus on ourselves? Seriously.

Something I’ve learned w/ my age and experience: It’s not always necessary, or sometimes even wise, “to work things out” w/ others in my life. More and more I’m finding that it makes more sense to just meet them where they are and set my boundaries/ expectations accordingly.
