If we aren't working to expand our students' ability to both understand, and therefore transform the world in which we all are a part, then what is the point of our teaching? It's not about learning so they can "get", but rather what will their learning help this world become?
Are we brave enough to trust that we are worth something even if there is no one beneath us in our hierarchy of worthiness?
