The more I see on the Connor McGregor coverage and comments the more I remind myself that many people do not understand the offence of #Rape. More education on consent is needed - maybe just more education for some in general! #mcgregor

I’ve worked with rape investigations for over ten years, they’re delayed for all manner of reasons but I’ve never known it because of football related policing. One of my team had her cases adjourned this week as a barrister had Covid, however... Now rescheduled for Oct 2025! 😬

THREAD🧵Whenever I share stories about frontline policing with people who have no policing experience, most have no idea about how unbalanced the resources v demand equation is. When asked to guess about numbers most are nowhere near, and are astounded when I share the realities.

Anyone who condones this behaviour needs to have a serious look at themselves. How does looting a Greggs = Protesting immigration? Explain it please… #UKRiots #ukprotest

When I went sick due to cancer I had a team of 7 DCs with a total of around 60-70 investigations (majority being child sex offences). Returned 14 months later with 2 DCs (+1 PC) and 105 investigations. Can anyone beat that change?? Hopefully not!

Vetting must be better. I thought mine was pretty tough 20 years ago and I’m not sure what’s changed. There’s some things you can’t vet and certainly social media is now completely relevant but how do you make it watertight?? #Newsnight

To suggest EVERY single officer and staff must leave and be replaced over a generation is shocking - terrible broadcasting - however there’s enormous changes which need to me made #newscast

Having done many manhunts for serious criminals I’m 100% convinced that the Met, no matter your view on them, would’ve found Ezidi by now with the tools available to them. Very few people can disappear without a trace these days.

Things must be bad in the prison service … my team had a male convicted of child rape offences, I expect he’ll get 15 years + and they usually go straight on remand (even if previously on bail) however judge told him there no was space and bailed him for sentence in 4 months!!
