There is finally an update on the #Marburg situation in Equatorial Guinea: Total now stands at 9 confirmed and 20 probable cases. A month ago there was only one confirmed case. 27 of these cases have died (including all probable and 7 out of 9 lab confirmed cases)

Another terrible shipwreck in the Mediterranean off the Italian coast. Dozens of people have died, many children. We mourn them and stand in solidarity with the survivors. Time for States to stop arguing and to agree on just, effective, shared measures to avoid more tragedies.

Today’s @TheLancet @jzarocostas underlines that Global maternal mortality rates are stagnating - maternal health should not be slipping down the global political agenda, but it is - inequalities continue to drive barriers to women accessing the care they need to deliver safely.
