We just launched ClimateTriage.com, a platform helping you to contribute to #opensource projects focused on climate technology and sustainability. Start making your first meaningful contribution to #climatechange, #sustainable #energy, #biodiversity and natural resources.
Thanks to ecosyste.ms and @teabass 's outstanding support, we've seen a massive increase in new projects discoved in environmental sustainability. Instead of stars, we have found better criteria for identifying high-impact projects. #opensource #Sustainability
"Ecosystems combines data on 8m+ open source components from over 50 registries with over 160m repositories on GitHub, GitLab and BitBucket. With this data, we create a map of interdependency from which we can infer much about the state of the OS infra. on which we all depend" 💯

Just added a new endpoint to the packages service that returns a full, unpaginated list of version numbers for a package, very snappy as it's straight from the index, example: packages.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/registr…

Just noticed a huge bump in packages published to npm yesterday, one user published over 43,000 new packages! npmjs.com/~jfeifieikkjdk… Looks like just spam, they are just readmes with telegram links, but kinda wild that there's no limits on the npm registry to that kind of spam.
Dawn (@geekygirldawn) shares the importance of mentoring the next wave of maintainers while Andrew (@teabass) talks about his history with 24 Pull Requests, Libraries.io, and Ecosyste.ms (github.com/ecosyste-ms). Listen at 🎙️ podcast.sustainoss.org/159
Adolfo has written a nice blog post about our (and his) work on Rattler (mamba / conda in Rust). It's aptly titled "The birth of a package manager". Hopefully this gets some more people excited: ochagavia.nl/blog/the-birth… cc @condaproject @condaforge

The birth of a package manager
Since my time at the university, pursuing a Computer Science degree, I have always been fascinated by programming languages and the tooling around them: compilers, IDEs, package managers, etc....
Socket's partnership with Ecosystems is a natural fit. We both care about improving the relationship between OSS users and producers and addressing the key challenges faced by the OSS community, such as package security, funding, and sustainability. socket.dev/blog/socket-ec…

Socket partners with Ecosystems to build and maintain secure, resilient, and sustainable open source ecosystems.
🎉 Exciting news! ❤️ @SocketSecurity is partnering with the Ecosyste.ms project! Their work already helped us ship Python. Now we want to give back + support shared infrastructure for researchers/policymakers/devs to secure + sustain OSS. ⬇️ Learn more
Still lots to do but it's coming along nicely, everything is open source on GitHub: github.com/ecosyste-ms Want to get involved? Open an issue, pull request or email: [email protected]
