Today is Transit Employee Appreciation Day, which is celebrated annually to honor bus operators, maintenance staff and others working in transit. We are so grateful for everyone that keeps DART moving, now more than ever.
Public transit is an essential service so @ridedart is continuing to operate but taking precautions to protect the health and safety of our employees and passengers.
Effective immediately, DART is temporarily pausing all fare collection and is encouraging all riders who are able to use the back door to get on (and off) the bus. More information on the proactive measures DART is taking can be found at ridedart.com.
Ride DART for FREE to the Iowa Caucuses. All trips on Local and Express Routes are free after 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3. Paratransit trips booked in advance to or from caucus sites are also free. Learn more: ridedart.com/caucus

It was heartwarming to watch my DART colleagues read to third graders this morning. I’m amazed at how much the students enjoyed interacting with us, and nearly half of the students had ridden DART!
