I trained in the 70’s and we were paid albeit not a lot and we had to stay in the nursing home for the first year. It was tough with long hours but we did feel valued . We had to commit to a year post registration to the hospital we trained which guaranteed a job on qualifying.
I was lucky as a student nurse, I was paid and housed (1980s). It is simply wrong that your contracts have been broken. #IAmProvidingAService

8 weeks into lockdown - juggling work & childcare - I still haven't found a way to make the 'switching gears' aspect easier to manage. How do you focus on leading a strategic meeting, when a moment ago you were admiring a large poo or talking to an imaginary dragon? Any tips?
