Hello my non-Joliet friends, last week my hometown's mayor assaulted a protestor, Victor Williams, during a peaceful protest and has refused to apologize nor resign, simply calling it "self-defense". If you feel he should be held responsible, I have included a petition below:
defunding the chicago police department definitely doesnt seem that radical when you remember that they closed down 60 public schools and half the city's mental health clinics to spare corporations from paying taxes.
This is unethical.
The NYPD’s budget is $6,000,000,000 That’s more than the city spends on health, homelessness, youth development and workforce development combined.
Some of y’all really think defunding the police is radical and crazy but they defund schools every year. Chicago shut down 50 schools in black and brown communities at once saying they don’t have the money. That same year, the police budget increased.
Police should not have more funding than teachers.
