Elmwood Elementary School Library
@elms_library
I'm Abigail Leibel, the school librarian. at Elmwood Elementary School, where 2nd and 3rd grade students come together to learn, explore and grow.
That’s me walking around collecting books from my students every morning. It’s a fun way to start my day!
I love hearing 632 of my favorite 2nd and 3rd graders calling the pencils, erasers, pens and trinkets at our scholastic book fair tchotchkes. As tempting as those tchotchkes are, they still started with books. Thank you HPTA for another amazing book fair! #HPTA
This circulation desk took forever to create! And then yesterday a student said she was so happy to see her language up there. Worth every minute. Happy week one of school!
Our end of year projects-digital book talks using Google slides. It’s sharing time.
2nd graders are learning about their heritage in their classrooms. At the library we’re playing a flag matching game. And, of course, we’re looking at our country books. I can’t keep those on our shelves!
Fun week at the library introducing students to the Lunch Lady graphic novel series and then signing the poster for our own School Lunch Heroes. Thanks @StudioJJK kids can’t wait to read your books!
This past week we combined the 3rd grade Google apps lessons with poetry lesson and learned that “poetry is a picture painted with words”. We read Shel Silverstein’s poem, “it’s Dark in Here” and the students illustrated it in Google Docs. This is an example.
I couldn’t love this anymore!!! ❤️❤️
Welcoming @ALALibrary, the oldest and largest library association in the world, to the @Nasdaq Closing Bell in honor of National Library Week! 📚🛎 Founded in 1876, ALA promotes library service and librarianship to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all.
So grateful for an amazing PTO. Thank you HPTA for the sweet gift and card acknowledging school librarian day. ❤️#HPTA
Craft books vs. Cook books. Who will win?
I could watch these two enjoying their books together all day!
National Women’s History Month interactive display. The signs on the bottom flip up to reveal the answer. Did you know women couldn’t have credit cards without a co-signer until 1974?
We have some creative 3rd graders who made these book marks to share with their friends at the library.
Our second grade teachers were ladybugs for Read Across America. Nothing grouchy about them! This is Libby and her minions.
Read Across America Day is brought to you by the book fairy-or school librarian. Happy reading everyone!
I ❤️ the kids in my school and Wacky Wednesday. And those books. I love those books too!
Our library mascot, the ladybug, has was officially named Libby this last week. We got 637 name recommendations and, Dilly, our principal’s dog, announced the name on Monday morning. Two lucky students helped pick the name. It’s been a fun week @elms_library
It's Black History Month and Chinese New Year and we are celebrating these at the library
So excited to bring the Elmwood Library into the 21st century. We started with exploring our online catalog.
