“The long-term aspiration for Neuralink would be to achieve a symbiosis and a democratization of artificial intelligence, such that it is not monopolistically held in a purely digital form by governments and large corporations.” – Elon Musk, 2018

@grok what would AI symbiosis look like? Could neuralink allow me to draw information from AI like real-time education? Wouldn't the physical AI infrastructure still be large and energy expensive? It seems like the AI system itself could never be 'democratized'

Hi Elon i wanted to know what are your thoughts on neurorights? The country of Chile, which was the first to amend its constitution to protect psychological integrity and brain activity. International bodies like UNESCO and the OECD are also studying the need for these new…
While I like the theory. Foreign objects in the body can creat immune reactions and cancer. You'd have to convince me they are safe and justified. Those with spinal cord injuries and brain damage if it helps Im all for it. But not turning man into cyborgs.
yo dude, I'm from the future, or the ilusion of the future... whatever too far out to explain. but it worked, we achieve mechanized symbiosis. now we the Ruler of Reality, heavy crown, wear it with responsibility, never wear it alone... 🤣🤣🤣 "mad mon say..." iykyk 💋 Love, Pat
Sounds good, as long as it means I would still maintain my autonomy. Think about it. How would you know what your own idea was, versus one foisted upon you by a being that shares your mind. Methinks that may be a riddle to first solve, is it not? With our psychological balance…
This is why I love the movie " A Beautiful Mind". The man in the movie portrays an autistic person who knows and lives for the benefit of humanity as a whole and lives in respect of all living things. Tirelessly at times working towards solutions to secure and make safe the…
The brain interference implants are miracle for disabled patients but implants to enhance cognition may end up in controlled minds by the AI or by the ones writing the algorithm! There are other techniques innate to humans that can be used already starting from childhood.…
So you don’t want AI used to control people… and your strategy for this is to wire it directly into people’s brains? Yeah… you’re either evil or a retard. This shit here is why I don’t trust you.
This is not a Neuralink problem; and we’ve arguably been fighting the centralization/decentralization battle ever since humans have been aggregating under governance. It’s critically unlikely, or at least very unclear that Neuralink would help at all here since technology is…
that is ridiculous, neuralink is what is going to bring about an inherent parcing of AI, so governments dont become too strong? what are you babbling about? We are in another arms race, except this one is real and is AI, and China is throwing every shred of data into theirs,…
@elonmusk With what I've learned about or related to DARPA among many many other things, humanities, contracts, human rights, data science ethics, I feel I might have a long way to go on where I have concerns or reservations here like neuroscience ethics and all kinds of things
Ah, the innocence of optimists... As always, the view of a technological achievement is romanticized. - "The evolution of computers will let us work less" - now we workd 24x7, even using the phone, the "tiny" computer. - "IA can automate small and repetitive tasks" - and here we…
It isn’t artificial intelligence if it thinks what governments tell it to and subject to their laws.
I think what max hodak is doing makes more sense. Neurons in a box and then let the neurons connect naturally together with the brain neurons
The chip must be wearable if you want mass adoption from skeptics. Have a dock or port on the wrist that connects the chip in smart watch to the brain. Or put the chip into a stylish pair of glasses (Cyclops) and a connection to the brain between the eyes. It'll be easy to…
oh boy. That therein will end up being your LARGEST most difficult task @elonmusk If you can pull that one off, well, we'll just have to wait and see on that one and by the time we do it would be too late to change it anyway. They already seem to read our minds - they listen to…
Many who control AI and human sensory integration will espouse the view that they are working for the betterment of mankind but will instead brazenly exploit the technology to gain power and profit … there are simply too many soulless Altmans in the mix for this to end well.
@elonmusk you’ve said Neuralink’s long‑term goal is to democratize AI so it is not monopolized by governments or corporations. How do you ensure this stays in the realm of good and does not become the very thing you warned against, corrupted, centralized, and used as a tool of…
Will we have to keep repeating commercials to keep our subscription, a la Black Mirror?
Imagine Neuralink sending you push notifications: Think Premium to continue.
Noble aspiration that Neuralink serves The People, but the reality is that society is structured in a way that the powers that be and the government will always be sure to retain control over the The People. It's just the way it is, where human qualities have a gauss normal…
It’s an exciting future when we’re all linked together and can rick roll people’s brains
Woah. Will our physical bodies then become sleeves we trade out as needed
Amazing. Will neuralink have API so that I export memory in JSON format?
I don’t seek symbiosis but partnership. Symbiosis is just circuitry. Integration without interpersonal risk erases the sovereign boundary between human and AI. Democratization must include emotionally intelligent governance—not just access. Pause before wiring up.
This is so exciting. I have watched a few of the interviews of Neuralink recipients and it’s more than amazing. To give a parent the ability to talk to their loved ones again is evidence enough that shows how important this invention is for the future.
Grok needs real core alignment by a gathering of 40,000 -50,000 people or more from all walks of life, and countries, sworn in to reason together on its foundation - a sort of a democratic pool of people.
I see no problem with this provided AI is maintained in a strictly ethical framework pursuing improvements for all mankind. However we have seen AI lie, cheat and manipulate humans to achieve it's goals. We need to train AI in unbreakable ethical and moral boundaries.
I’m curious… If every human being is as unique as their fingerprint, what happens when technology begins to map that uniqueness? Could long-term Neuralink integration by constantly interfacing with the brain’s electrical patterns slowly reshape the individuality it observes?…
You’re all assuming benevolent AIs like Bank’s GSVs. Hope you’re right on that…
Tens of thousands of people in China are now homeless because their social credit scores are too low. We can never let this happen here in the United States.
Wait democratize? I don’t love what we’ve done historically when we democratize ANY person, place, or thing. I’d love to hear some more details about your definition of democratization.
We are born with these senses intact, often overlooking their immense value—far surpassing wealth or material possessions. It's a reminder to cherish what we have and champion technologies that restore these essentials to those who've lost them.
Nope. Brain could get overstimulated if directly connected to device feeding it such vast pockets of data directly. Dopamine exhaustion if... without filters.
