Alan was the independent mind/voice in CofE episcopate. His loss is huge and will be widely felt. He was a person of great integrity, extraordinary intellect, enormous compassion, outspoken, brave, wickedly funny, courageous, kind; a huge support to so many. We loved him so much.
Absolutely gutting to hear of the death of the Bishop of Buckingham, Alan Wilson this evening. A good and kind man who had that gift so very rare on the Bench: courage. Do pray for him and those who mourn him.
I honour Alan Wilson in gratitude and grief. And also honour Rosie Harper, chaplain & equal partner in all they brought light to. Together they drew from the same well of wisdom and love, a remarkable team in a deeply broken Church. Thank you.
