I always said I wanted to own my own business so one year ago today, I opened two. I had no encouragement. No safety net. There was no one that thought this was a good idea. One year later, both businesses are thriving…and I couldn’t be more grateful.
The last month of my life has been very busy & difficult with Letty’s passing, but today, I crossed a milestone. This morning, I spoke at a Women’s Conference in Nebraska about mental health in rural communities. I think Letty would have been proud. And now…I can breathe.
Yesterday, the world lost a great lady. Letty was my closest friend, my mentor, my shoulder to cry on. My life is changed and full of love because she was a part of it. She died yesterday morning, in her own home, surrounded by her cats… just the way she wanted to go.
Last year, I was devastated when my dog, Oz, departed this world. I recently befriended an artist named Patricija. She sent me a drawing of Oz & I think it is so beautiful I put it in a frame. Stop looking at the negative. There really is so much beauty in this world!
The cat now has a bed, looking out the window, on his own desk. I don’t think he’s moved all day.

Last night, the cat acted like he was starving. I knew the housesitter fed him so I thought he was just being overly dramatic. Then, this morning, I watched one of the dogs jump onto the table where I feed the cat and start eating his food. I forgot my dogs are acrobats.
