The best stories aren't those that provide the most answers. Rather, they're those that make the readers ask the most interesting questions. Ambiguity is good. A story is not a puzzle or a riddle, with a single right answer. The best fiction is often mysterious and enigmatic.

Be honest with yourself about what you're avoiding. What causes you discomfort? What scares you? Push yourself to do it. Even just a little bit. And then do it again. This is the way to growth.

Ooh, intrigued by this (eyes my WIP and shelf of writing craft books)

My learning accelerated when I stopped reading books "just in case" they might be useful in the future. Now, I surgically read individual chapters of books—and only when I know it's the chapter that will solve my current bottleneck. Just-in-time reading > just-in-case reading.

Please allow me to tell you the one thing that I needed someone to tell me years ago, to my face, without hesitation: "You can become a better writer, and still not get an agent." Work on your craft and optimize your chances, yes, but remember there's never a guarantee. Ever.
