Hard not to like Terry Smith and can understand why the players love playing for him. His place on Matt Campbell's staff will be incredibly valuable going forward.
Someone ought to sign that own-goal guy from Arsenal. Comes up big at the biggest moments.
Winter switch only tough when player doesn't want to go to your squad on release clause.
🚨 EXCL: Antoine Semenyo preference is to join Man City in January. Nothing formal until market opens but #AFCB attacker favours #MCFC. Man Utd pushed hard + never planned to use 25yo at wing-back but winter switch was always tough for #MUFC @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/69155…
Michigan still No. 1 and Duke tumbles as the @usatodaysports men's college basketball poll gets a new look. usatoday.com/story/sports/n…
There's usually 60 or more college football games every weekend. That helps obscure some of the bad blowout games that nobody would ever want to watch. College Football Playoff does the opposite.

Andy Reid epitomizing the go-for-it philosophy that loses you games. Defense playing elite in second half and you give the game away doubling down on offense that has struggled all night.
Hall of Fame-level tweet.
Brent Pry being relieved of head coaching duties of a Virginia based football team that wears maroon only to stay on as defensive coordinator for the new head coach.
Head-to-head didn't matter when Notre Dame wasn't No. 1 compared to Florida State in 1993. But it matters in 2025 to keep Fighting Irish out of playoff. They're probably one of the top 5-6 teams right now. This sport, man.
History made. Indiana is No. 1 in US LBM Coaches Poll for first time ahead of College Football Playoff rankings reveal. usatoday.com/story/sports/n… via @usatoday
This might be Kirby's best coaching jobs at Georgia. Where the Bulldogs were at the start or even midway through year on defense bears no resemblance to where they are now. Still not sure they can win it all with their offense even if it has also improved.
People freaking out about the Notre Dame-Alabama-Miami debate and just blindly accepting a team not even in the top 20. Going to four automatic conference spots would give opportunity for great future Group of Six teams, but not allow others to steal spot. But it won't happen.
What are we doing here. Tulane and/or James Madison have no business in the CFP. I get it, by CFP format, one is getting in. But these two are a long way from Boise State 2024.
If it wasn't for Oklahoma, Notre Dame wouldn't have its NBC contract.
Oklahoma could never sustain itself by being independent lol

College football Top 25 rankings: Texas A&M tumbles in US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 14
After a monumental Week 14 in college football, the US LBM Coaches Poll has been shuffled with Texas A&M falling out of top five following its first loss
Bowl picture update: 79 teams in the house with six wins. Washington State and Auburn still potentially eligible. Total of 82 spots available. That means Missouri State should be in and maybe Delaware, too, as six-win teams in transition period.
It also forces the opponent to play different and under different pressure when it's one-score game. And it doesn't force you to onside kick, either. Some decisions just aren't about analytics because humans play the game.
Analytically, that is absolutely correct. The counterpoint would be the human element of a team’s mindset/mentality only being down one score instead of two. Right or wrong, there is some unquantifiable aspect to the belief & confidence of knowing you’re only down one score.
The win by Navy eliminates James Madison from College Football Playoff consideration unless both North Texas and Tulane lose this weekend. Otherwise, American winner will have two or fewer losses and much better resume. Downturn of Sun Belt contenders has been big drag for Dukes.
If only the person that leaked the NCAA men's tournament backet had a connection with the CFP committee, we could save ourselves a lot of time.
