Media, please stop using the term ‘silver tsunami’. It’s condescending and kinda ageist. Using the term conjures a discriminatory stereotype. It’s harmful. A reminder: ageism is discrimination we commit against our future selves.

Well-deserved recognition for @NAgeingRI researcher @PazitLevinger

Congratulations @PazitLevinger - a wonderful researcher & @RAILMonash adjunct - who has won the 2023 @SPAHCMonash adjunct research award for her excellent work on senior exercise parks. Pazit's award was accepted by her long-standing collaborator, RAIL Director @Keith_Hill_RAIL

Home-based care for older people should include clinical and personal care and be accessible for those who are frailer. Australia also has a long way to go. Thx for the opportunity to contribute to this editorial Philip Sloane @Dreleazer Steve Phillips jamda.com/article/S1525-…

This is a story about a policy issue that’s not exactly high-profile or glamorous, but that helps explain why we’re going to struggle to get a better aged-care system for a long time. Learn more: themandarin.com.au/199891-physio-… #choosephysio @crikey_news

One of the key things older people want is to be heard. In a new report “What Do Older People Want from their Healthcare?” @NAgeingRI asked older Victorians what they want to improve their health and wellbeing, and how their priorities change. Read: bit.ly/3PRPCYr
