Maw was standing there, wide as she could be, when we came around to the front of the house right on those chicken’s tail feathers. We stopped quick when we saw her. She squinted at us and gave us her evil eye. Nobody ever before or since had an evil eye like Maw’s.

I received this review. I do have some grammatical errors in my book. They were intentional because the narrator is based on my father who dropped out of school at age 7. I thought I would try it to capture his voice. Maybe it doesn’t work. I appreciate the review.
