every time I've iterated at something I initially thought could be a library, I ended up with something so simple all I could think was "this would be a stupid library, it's so simple"
You have to admit the biggest tech improvement in HTMX in the past 15 months was stolen from fixi.js. Shamelessly stolen. You're lucky both HTMX and fixi have the same permissive license, so what you're doing is technically not illegal.
many are saying
Fixi.js is so much simpler than HTMX that it will single-handedly end the HTMX meme guy's entire career.
well maybe if @htmx_org didn't spend all of his time "taking inspiration" from fixi for the new version🙄
the fixi-stans simply CANNOT leave /r/htmx alone lol
> "different approaches are fine" > proceeds to copy fixi.js for htmx4
you useState() i useHATE(OAS) we are not the same (and that’s ok, different approaches are fine)
clearance, not body shape
The difference between a car and SUV is clearance, not body shape
because it'll be called fixi.js 2.0
i _guarantee_ there will not be an htmx 5.0! 😤
fixi always wins these
I'm in 5 chats all about the same thing, but with slightly different compositions of people. Is this what it's like to be inside Carson's head when @htmx_org, @fixi_js, and @intercoolerjs are arguing?
this is very true a lot of the core infrastructure of htmx 4 is coming out of the fixi.js project obviously the use of fetch() but even more so making everything pluggable through the request/response/swap life cycle via events and a context object
anyone got 50k?
Very beautiful cvcv domain name: FiXi.com, suitable for various projects! Create a great brand! Achieve an extraordinary life! Currently only 50000$, open the domain name to complete the purchase! There is only one chance! Opportunity favors those who are prepared!
"HTMX is the meme framework that spun out of control" true
Oddly enough, Fixi and Intercooler are real. Htmx is the meme framework that spun out of control.
If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles
happy to announce the release of fixi.js 0.9.2 no functionality changes but fixi is now available via npm under the `fixi-js` this was accomplished *without* a package.json in the root via a script created by longtime friend of htmx, @sabanski_n: github.com/gnat/surreal/b…
happy to announce fixi 0.9.0 has been released: github.com/bigskysoftware… this release adds the `none` swap this is the first candidate release for fixi 1.0 there is also now an SSE extension: github.com/bigskysoftware…
fixi.js is designed to be forked github.com/bigskysoftware… 89 lines of code, 3 files, no build step, you can understand it in an hour the code isn't yours until you understand it
Unpopular opinion: people should be forking open source more. I think too many people view FOSS as free as in beer instead of realizing it's all about free as in speech, then weaponize the latter but really just want the former.
a madlad converted from @htmx_org to @fixi_js & documented the process: "I think Fixi is perfect for people who like to mod and control everything." reddit.com/r/htmx/comment…
