entertainment @richardosman notes lack of bands in UK charts. in 2015 a change of licensing laws - solo artists and duos didn’t need venue performance license. Great for singer songwriters (finally) but musicians said it would change UK music forever. Perhaps they were right.
Speaking as someone who is proud to have worked with safeguarding victims, to those in the church who think it’s okay to hint at identifying a victim of sexual harassment without their permission you should (a) be ashamed (b) consider your position. It’s a fucking outrage. #rage

a spectacular @rafredarrows manoeuvre from ‘back stage’ in Northamptonshire’s villages too. low flying over our house and fields prompts to turn on tv for F1 GP. During this display we got rain and sunshine - GB weather made the wings look dayglow pink!

#TerryPratchett , definitely worth re-reading. In A Blink of the Screen (3rd time) I noticed: Death and What Comes Next. Best lecture on parallel universes and existential philosophy I’ve read. Asks good questions, gives explanations, makes you laugh. Thanks @terryandrob
10 years ago I was still stuck in the query trenches (lost & confused). Here’s a few things I’ve learned about writing/publishing in the past decade 🧵 1. Resilience. Rejection is part of the job. It gets easier. It’s not that your work isn’t good it’s that it isn’t a good fit.
This thread is thoughtful and well worth reading. Assuming fantasy fiction should eliminate disability is like assuming all characters in that genre should fit the stereotypes. It’s not engaging. It’s not representative of readers. It’s probably bad writing.
This is a terrible take for many reasons, and makes me determined to now write a fantasy WITH a wheelchair in it. But let's deconstruct WHY this is terrible... 🧵
