Anything the US government does these days has to be looked at through the lens of the cycles of great powers, and how those in charge try to extend their empires' time as the dominant power.
Nothing like skiing on fresh powder listening to the greatest singers to start the season.
Holding yourself accountable to yourself is as rewarding (results & emotion) as it is difficult. Start by finding a system/tool to help you until it becomes natural. You'll get hooked on the positive feeling from the achievement and disgusted by the opposite.
Once you have a high level grasp of the concepts, there is no better learning than doing.
