Lottery of birth.

How do we create wealth in naij and by extention jobs.poverty in naij is heart breaking.people need jobs that restores their dignity. At the end, the difference between many of us is just the lottery of birth and the benevolent spirit cracking our palm kernel

550K USD is roughly 800million naira. That amount can only manage to build a 1 acre size village mansion. Depending on choice and taste in material and finishing. Cannot create you the imaginary “new civilization”.

This is not an exaggeration: with 550k USD, I’ll go to Osun state, specifically Ibokun, and create a new civilization.

Founders need to realize that if they’re not bootstrapping, then investors money are not your personal funds. Accountability has to be done, $700k is ~700M. How was that money spent and for what exactly? - No Ads - No solid product delivered - No physical working space.

Startup fund raising in Nigeria context is wild to me. American founders raise funds and the grind begins. Nigerian founders raise funds and begin to glow. You are glowing when the whole existence of your company is on external funding not revenue.

One of my biggest regrets in the startup space was Thepeer ( @thepeerHQ ). Sometimes I still blame myself for this. I started this company with Michael Okoh ( @ichtrojan ), I made Chike ( @chykeofafrica ) the CEO. I brought in the major partners. I left the company when we…

The UK doesn’t give room for economic growth that’s why you’d find someone like Ogbeni Dipo with PhD cry over local political appointment while a fresh grad in the US is bagging good money from jobs and brick & mortar businesses.

This YouTuber who migrated to the UK with her husband and children barely 3 years ago is back to Nigeria, buying home properties from the scratch again. She’s lost some weight too. I don’t know but the UK doesn’t give room for growth. Try the US, Germany or even Finland.

I’ll be contributing to the next social research. Next theme could be on substance abuse. On the side, monthly newsletter for @InsideBuild is almost done. It's something related to AI and it's interesting.

Met an Afghan businessman who imports medical supplies into the country. He told me every transaction goes through banks, takes 7 days to process, and cost him $3k in fees on a $100k payment. I can’t help but wonder if we’re building for such people, because this is where…
