VIDEO REFLECTION: Hit that Ball Back! Ever felt like you keep confessing the same sins over and over? You're not alone! Today, I share some insights about how confessing the same sins might not necessarily mean that you're not making any progress in the spiritual life.

The life of a missionary priest...

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Final Day) We've finally reached the end of this series. I hope you've found these reflections on forgiveness helpful, and I pray that all of us get to practice it in a deeper way this Lent. God bless you!

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 17) St. John Paul II isn't the only saint who exhibited amazing forgiveness. Today, I talk about a young girl who, with her dying breath, forgave the boy who stabbed her more than 15 times.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 16) Would you forgive the person who tried to kill you? In the 1980s, a saintly man did just that. And his story continues to inspire us today.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 15) As we count down to the end of this series, we continue to tackle tough questions about forgiveness. And today's question is: Can we be truly Christian if we don't forgive?

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 11) At this point, you might be wondering, "But Father, *how* do I forgive? Where do I even start?" Here's a simple, but powerful exercise that can help you start the process of forgiveness.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 10) Today, I speak about three people whom we need to forgive: First, we need to forgive ourselves. Second, other people. And finally, one other person whom you might not expect...

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 9) Today, I want to share with you another powerful story of forgiveness. One that shows us how true forgiveness is beyond our human ability, and can only be done by someone who taps into God's grace.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 8) How can we reconcile forgiveness with justice? Won't forgiving someone who hurt us be an injustice? I ponder these tough questions in today's video.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 6) Forgiveness is not a one-time thing. It's an iterative process, like peeling an onion. Jesus tells us to forgive our brothers not once, not twice, but seventy times seven times. And here's another story to show what that looks like.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 5) Nothing beats a good story. So here's a true account about forgiveness, one that happened within the walls of a prison, no less.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 4) "Forgive and forget"? No way! Forgiveness is not forgetfulness. Rather, forgiveness is a choice---a choice to release myself from the burden of the injustice done to me, and to leave justice and retribution in the hands of God.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 3) Before we talk more about forgiveness, we have to figure out what it's *not*. First, forgiveness doesn't ignore or minimize the wrong that was done. And second, it doesn't depend on whether or not the other person apologizes to us.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 2) My sister-in-law, Sybil, is a convert from atheism to Catholicism. I interviewed her last year about why she decided to become Catholic, and her answer surprised me---and it might surprise you too.

VIDEO SERIES: Freedom & Forgiveness (Day 1) What's the secret to a truly happy life? Forgiveness!  Join me over the next three weeks as I explore the theme of forgiveness, and how practicing it can help us become happier and holier.

DAILY REFLECTION: Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust Yesterday, we were reminded that we are dust, and unto dust we will return. May Lent help us focus on the things that truly last: love, relationships, and the good that we do for others.

Happy Ash Wednesday!  Lent is THE season to look at what really matters in our lives, and to get rid of anything that does not help us get closer to God. I'll be launching a series on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving soon,.  Have a blessed Lent!

DAILY REFLECTION: Sinking Our Roots Deep In today's readings, St. James says, "Blessed is he who perseveres through temptation, for he will receive the crown of life." God can bring forth life from seemingly hopeless situations. And he calls us to put our trust in him.
