After decades of using Ant and Maven, I’m really enjoying using Scala-cli for building #scala projects. Don’t get me wrong, maven is great, but the simplicity of Scala-cli is what’s got me hooked. It’s easy to build and run, add dependencies and even build docker containers!
I’ve been playing with Tapir this weekend to develop some REST apis. I really like the way of defining endpoints programmatically and defining the payloads all in code. It’s a breath of fresh air. The tutorials by @adamwarski are a great introduction. youtube.com/playlist?list=…

If you’re familiar with Java records, you’ll like #Scala Case classes even more. They’re immutable data stores but you can copy them easily and create new instances based upon zero or more attributes of the original instance.
