A thought: With the combination of, 1) growing animosity between the players and owners, and 2) potential travel issues ahead due to the coronavirus, maybe the players should just go ahead and strike this year instead of next.

Fiers may have done right by exposing it all, but Papi’s point about the optics of savoring the victory and then exposing it is a good one.

Why did the Astros even bother putting out a statement about Francis Martes’ suspension? If I was the Astros’ PR department (and heaven help them right now), the only statement I’d release would say, “¯\_(ツ)_/¯.”
It has to be asked at this point: is Rob Manfred an Astros fan or otherwise deeply in cahoots with the Astros?
Does anyone truly believe Bregman and Altuve are truly sorry? Some Astro should just stand up and be like, “Hell no, I don’t apologize! I got a ring from this!” The only reason Bregman and Altuve apologized is so they can look good and not lose sponsorship money.
