What has happened today in Philadelphia warrants a full-scale consult from the NFL. The entire game has been dictated by calls by the officials.
This was called offensive pass interference.
The Giants were called for offensive pass interference here, taking away a 70-yard TD. One of the most poorly officiated games in NFL History.
Brian Daboll has every right to be going ballistic. Giants have gotten a terrible whistle today. Doesn't mean they lose this game because of it, but some of these missed calls were embarrassing and game-changers.
Eagles are better but Giants have gotten hosed by the refs in this game.
Daboll is livid and Daboll is right. Unacceptable, awful call.
4th-and-11, 61-yard TD pass by Jaxson Dart to Darius Slayton taken off the board because of OPI on Slayton. Brian Daboll is not pleased.
The tackle on Cam Skattebo may have also been an illegal hip-drop tackle. Just so sad to see.
Add all this to the too-hard-to-officiate file, I guess. So clearly a quick whistle and should’ve been a fumble. Even the NFL replay center tried to have a say but they can’t overrule forward progress. Whatever the #Giants just challenged, it was unsuccessful.
Kavyon stripped that ball before any whistle was blown...
So Giants lose possession - which they earned - and a challenge, ultimately, and a timeout. Tush Push officiating becoming more and more of a disgrace.
I'm not sure how they called forward progress there -- the Eagles were clearly still pushing Hurts when the ball was ripped out of his hands.
