It makes me so sad when certain parents make their kids go back and get “better books” or “proper books” when they don’t see their first choices as good enough; way to ruin reading for your offspring folks! Not to mention disregard their autonomy and personal preferences! 🎉

Some ppl in my profession are legit in their feels over someone's unserious tweet about having a bar in a library like it'll actually happen and they'll be forced to work at the MFer 😖 The stuff librarians shrug off vs what they lose their shit abt is... white
I wish I didn’t recognise some of this and the fact that it played an integral part in the loss of an amazing library advocate and leader in my workplace. :(
The library has a simple message: Read every damn thing someone tells you is dangerous or naughty or bad for you. You'll turn into a more interesting, empathetic, and grounded person.
