Our very own Mrs Reed-Birks was presented with a certificate commemorating the work she has done for our school and community so far, with particular emphasis on the opening of the Jonathan Centre.

We have been celebrating our KS3 student's Rank Order Assessments this week, with envelope opening and celebration assembly. There was a fantastic atmosphere from students proud of their achievements, showing off their results to staff and comparing their rank order with friends.

📚🎉 That’s a wrap for 14th Festival of Education! 2 incredible days of CPD with over 300+ sessions from 450+ speakers, 85 exhibitors, & 5,000+ attendees. A huge thank you to our amazing speakers, partners, & attendees for making this a #EducationFest to remember! ✨🙌
We’re delighted that Mrs Reed-Birks and Mr Down have been invited as guest speakers at the UK Festival of Education on Friday, talking about The Jonathan Centre and the impact of therapeutic provision in a mainstream school and how we use it to support our students and families.
Last week, Mrs Reed-Birks gave invitations out to a random selection of students. Mrs Reed-Birks wanted to hear the student's opinions and recommendations around both, in order to make changes ready for next academic year.
The stage is set... we know you’ve got this Year 11!!! Remember, nerves are a normal process we all go through before exams, but if you are really struggling or not sure about something, please reach out and speak to a member of staff in the morning. We’re all here to help you.

We are pleased to announce that our Year 11 Principal Student Maheep WON the Youth Parliament elections!!! She is now an official member of the Youth Cabinet and will be representing the views of young people in Portsmouth.
Coach Phil has been working hard with so many Charter students, running over 25 coaching and mentoring sessions a week! 📷 Over 100 students are currently signed up to Basketball sessions, learning new skills and working as a team to get those points!

So much must be done up front. Create a calm culture. Precise rules. Remove ambiguity. Train staff very very carefully. Adults giving mixed messages encourage children to push boundaries. Over communicate norms to staff, children, parents alike. Of course you’ll still be attacked

As 2023 draws to a close, we have been reflecting on all the positives from the Autumn term, and there have been many…. How have we managed to cram so much in to just 4 months!? Now to do it all again and more in the Spring Term …
It was great to be invited to attend the opening of the Jonathan Centre at Charter Academy yesterday. The centre offers students who may have social, emotional or mental health concerns support to overcome barriers and provide lifelong coping strategies.
