Couldn't sleep so ended up working for two hours at 2am (in part cos I was thinking about work). Thanks brain/anxiety/insomnia/ADHD.
Strange how it's only now that @Independent is calling for PR - after years of Greens and Lib Dems demonstrating how unrepresentative it is.
Last Thursdays election was deeply unfair... but don't just take our word for it. Here are top political scientist Sir John Curtice's thoughts. "We should not be surprised that some are arguing for a rethink."
🚨 NEW: Liz Truss becomes the first former Prime Minister to have lost their seat in more than 100 years
🚨🚨🚨 BREAKING: LIZ TRUSS HAS LOST HER SOUTH WEST NORFOLK SEAT TO LABOUR LABOUR: 11,847 CONSERVATIVES: 11,217
I know exactly which junction this happened at
What’s the worst wrong turn you’ve ever taken? I wasn’t paying attention on my way back from a holiday in Cornwall and ended up going to Wales. I don’t live in Wales.
🚨 NEW: The Green Party have successfully won all four of their target seats, despite an original exit poll prediction of just two
Woken up to Rees-Mogg losing his seat, Corbyn keeping his (with more votes than Starmer) and a Green MP in Bristol. Happy days 😊
The frustrating thing is that the media will make huge amounts of noise if Reform get two seats. If Greens get triple that.. . 🦗🦗🦗 (aka silence)
Guys, please understand that Reform even winning 2-6 seats is still an earthquake… they can absolutely use that to replicate the success of the SNP in Scotland between 2003 and 2011. At present, the Conservative Party is a disorganised mess, and will be that way for a while.
Thanks, Keir. That's why I've just voted for The Green Party.
As someone who receives PIP and has a job as a journalist, I would very much like to know why the Labour Party is going round the media perpetuating the myth PIP is an out of work benefit. Does Reeves know it’s not? Or does she not actually care?
'We know the benefits bill is staggeringly high' Labour's Ellie Reeves spoke to #BBCBreakfast as the Government unveils reforms to personal independence payments (PIP) as part of plans to overhaul the disability benefits system bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
lol i thought the point of making a mind map was to create an ontological mapping of concepts yourself. what are you getting out of it if a chatbot makes it for you?
ChatGPT can now create Mind Maps. No more wasting hundreds of hours making visuals for studying or simplifying complex ideas. Here’s how to do it for free in a few seconds:
We went from "Never Again" to scrolling past genocide.
Well I've just done my last shop at B&M then.
The next time you step into B&M bargains, whether you are working there or shopping there, worth remembering that the boss of the company has just donated £250,000 to Rishi Sunak.
Tomorrow is my last full day at the OfS. After seven years there and over fifteen working in higher education, I'm desperately sad to be leaving higher education behind for a while. But looking forward to new challenges and new opportunities. And to tomorrow evening's drinks 😊
How many GDPR breaches has this government had now? And this is where they start? Jobcentre referrals are vital for food banks. They help ensure those in most need get the help they need, because this govt certainly doesn't help.
Just evil. Jobcentres told to stop referring benefit claimants to food banks on the pretence of GDPR concerns. theguardian.com/society/2024/f…
Watching #taskmaster and starting at the beginning. I'm enjoying it but really, three seasons in a row where they could only get one woman comedian? (There might be more. I'm only starting season 3).
