“The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick; who can understand it? I the LORD search the heart …” (JER 17:9-10). One either believes his heart is good, or that it’s sin-sick and incurable as God says. Faith in Christ is the only cure.

It may be a bit early to celebrate the overturn of Roe vs Wade but not too early for a nation to seek God in repentance for the slaughter of innocents for which he will surely hold us accountable.

Is it not a troubling sign in the Church today when we refer to sin as “messing up, dropping the ball, making a mistake, etc?” Even the not-so-spiritual King Saul confessed to Samuel, “I have sinned.”

The Spirit of Christ is “the silver bullet” for defeating the enemy of indwelling sin (Rom 7:25)
Who instructed them? Who taught bluebirds how to build a nest and raise a family from start to finish? Any answer other than “God” is preposterous.

Following Jesus usually involves “downward mobility” as is seen in the disciples immediately leaving their nets and boats to fall in with Christ. But what riches of an unearthly sort come to those who follow their example!
