On April 13th I got an email from a stranger, @FayadMulla He was on Lesbos & had footage from 2 days prior showing migrants getting rounded up on land & ditched in the Aegean by the coast guard Did I want to see it? If you think the answer was an easy "yes," you're wrong.

Love this whole thread. Nothing crazy radical. Just small effective changes making a big impact.

⚡️ Mariupol authorities estimate that about 160,000 people are left in besieged Mariupol, out of the pre-war population of over 400,000. All of them need to be evacuated from the city due to the deepening humanitarian crisis, Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko said on March 28.

Listening to Zelensky's interview with the last remaining independent Russian media outlets and I'm struck by how insane it is to paint this man as some kind of Russophobe. He speaks Russian with such comfort and speed. It is his mother tongue.

my friend was killed today, Iryna Tsvila. Incredibly brave and kind person. Went through Donbas war as volunteer. Joined territorial defence now. We've made a book recently, "Voices of War. Stories of Veterans", she among authors. Wrote about her rose garden. Look at this smile

I started finding these sweet notes all over the house. On my pillow. In the fridge. On the dining table. Turns out my son is learning how to write and this is how he practices. I’m going to save these forever.

I get it now. Ted and Heidi Cruz wanted their children to be safe, to have basic sanitary services like heat and running water, to leave behind a third-world apocalyptic nightmare for a safer place. Like so many parents before them, they decided to cross the Mexican border.

The apocalypse monsters have arrived. 😱🥶

I just had an incredible encounter. Our doorbell rang, so I opened the window to look below to the front stoop. When I saw a man delivering food, I called out to him, letting him know it must be for our neighbors downstairs. This, so far, is normal.

Imagine being so racist that you go out of your way to ensure that the people who prepare *your* food are unvaccinated.

Gov. Ricketts (R-NE) says undocumented workers at meatpacking plants will not be eligible to receive the COVID vaccine. That’s at least 14% of Nebraska’s meatpacking workers, according to @MigrationPolicy.
