A winning day. Field work planning. Huge progress on a bursary application package. Homemade Massaman curry. An hour of lap swimming. Ended the day with an appearance of the #AuroraBorealis and a single #meteor sighting with the spouse. Plus dog lovies.
I am mobilizing + giving free weekly science communication workshops in a private community for scientists who want to join the battle vs misinformation. I wasn't planning on doing this so soon but this is urgent. We need you. Scientists, DM with your credentials for details.
I keep thinking I hear the dog, or he is hanging out just outside of my peripheral vision. I know that grief takes time, but right now it just feels like I'm being haunted by a very sweet dog who doesn't know he has moved on.

Strangest #GuyFawkes day in a while. Remember, remember the 5th of November.
3 weeks shy of his 13th birthday, our standard poodle let us know it was time to go. We had almost 10 amazing years with him, and wouldn't change a thing. The last few days he was in pain as his liver failed. It is so quiet without him.
If you are trying to get the dog to do something, DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE DOG. The dog is an eclipse.

I've lived in Toronto off and on for almost 15 years now and I still get confused at St. George station over which way is Kipling vs which direction is Kennedy.
For the first time ever, my dog did not try to join my meeting. But once I logged off, he gave me aggressive nuzzles to make up for it.
I find it very confusing that Americans have to register as Democrats, Republicans or Independents. As a Canadian, I can join a political party and elect a leader during their conventions, but no one knows your allegiance unless you tell them.
