Did a fast (for me) 5k at lunchtime and I’m still buzzing about it. Way too early to say strength training and yoga is paying off but I feel I’m on the right track!

My race got cancelled which is just as well, as I had decided not to risk running on icy hills anyway! Managed a frosty 5k yesterday morning while I was in Newcastle. Today? It’s time to stay cosy and drink coffee 😌

1000 miles ran in 2024 🥳

Visiting my mum in Newcastle this weekend. Got out for 5 miles today and the weather was very intense. Nearly got swept off my feet a few times and the sleet hurt my face. Weather app said ‘feels like -8’ which explained the numb fingers 🥶

Cancelled my gym membership. The price kept going up and up so it became untenable to pay so much. Luckily, there’s plenty on YouTube that’ll keep me covered for strength training and yoga. I’ll miss the steam room though :-(

Strength training this evening so I’ll chuck in a 15 second plank, and I have a mini mince pie to eat from yesterday’s party 🥳

Just catching up: 10-ish miles yesterday followed by a lovely festive party with my run club! Amazed I actually won a medal! “FOMO maker” because so many signed up to the Manchester to Liverpool Ultra after I completed it. Very happy to inspire 🥰

Went for a swim and to my first yoga class in years. Embarrassing lack of upper body strength but very good fun, the hour went quick!

Sorry I’m late, I was too busy running in a winter wonderland 💁🏻‍♀️☃️

Up with the larks to get 10 miles done with run club. A perfect start to Sunday. The chill is getting me into the festive spirit so I’ve indulged in a Turkey feast sandwich from M&S for lunch. Maybe a miniature Brie fell into my basket, too… 😏

I have been AWOL and I’ve missed running Twitter! Still running, clocking about 15-20 miles a week on average. Being part of a wonderful run club has kept me going. Now winter is here, I need the extra boost so looking forward to seeing everyone’s activities 😊☕️

Medal Monday! In awe of myself and my running bestie for finishing Manchester Marathon - 2 weeks after our 50 mile ultra. The spectator support was amazing and it was so good to see some friends from our run clubs along the way!

We did it!!! Felt like everything was against us: grouchy ankles, knees and hips, insane blisters, mud and puddle hopping/slipping, and enduring every weather you can think of. But we did it and I’m so proud of myself and my running bestie!! 50 mile ultra ✅ ✅ ✅

Today I’m running 50 miles!! To say I’m nervous is an understatement, but I know I’ve put the training in and I’ll get to the end 💪🏻

Taper time after a very steady 32 miler yesterday. Had to stop off for extra water top ups as it was surprisingly warm! Only a little bit of aching today, I think that’s a good sign 🙌🏻
