Looking to speak to someone involved in data within cycling, anyone know anyone that can help?

Today is another classic, how not to do data by @Conservatives a poorly designed algorithm has caused a lot of needless distress

I spoke a little while back to Przemek Chojecki about Deep Fakes, if that peaked your interest you'll love Ninas book

Good thread on Covid trend

I think I've spent too long attacking other people's wrong numbers lately and I'm not sure that's helping. So here's a fairly brief non-technical thread to tell people who aren't scientists what I think is going on at the moment. TLDR: I think it's probably all fine still (1/10)

We had a fascinating chat with @mixedknuts today, discussing data in football and the brilliant work @StatsBomb do episode out in the summer.

Not just us then! @IpsosMORI and Kings College find half us aren't sleeping as well during lock down

Seems mad that there is no public interest for MPs to vote in person, yet they're persisting.

Just 12% of Brits say MPs should have to be in Parliament to vote during the COVID-19 crisis, with news emerging that a minister who fell ill during his Commons speech today has been tested for the disease. 76% say MPs should be able to vote remotely yougov.co.uk/topics/politic…

As we get ready to release some of our chat with Ben Page from last week, opinion polls have already shifted a heap

Whislt we try and remain non political, there is a very interesting thread about UK excess death rates in UK

Sufficient data worldwide now exists to conclude that, to date, the UK has the highest rate of excess deaths in the Coronavirus pandemic in the world Free to read article with @jburnmurdoch 1/ ft.com/content/6b4c78…
