A man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter following a gas explosion at a house in Heysham in which toddler George Arthur Hinds died. Darren Greenham, 44, also admitted to theft. He was remanded into custody. Sharon Greenham, 52, is set to stand trial for manslaughter in October.

⚠️ Lithium-ion batteries again… our firefighters rescued this person down a ladder because they were trapped in a burning house. The advice below is absolutely life-saving.
This was the result of a serious lithium-ion battery fire in Lancashire! Luckily, the occupant was rescued by our fire crews from a first floor bedroom window. These batteries should only be charged and used as instructed. Make sure you have working smoke alarms in your home ⚠️

Some wildfires are started deliberately. If you see anything suspicious report it anonymously to @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 Call 999 to report a fire - even if it is small fire. In dry weather it can rapidly spread. #WildfireAware
