Latest ONS analysis shows 64% of businesses are at risk of insolvency and 17% of those in the accommodation and food services activities industry are at severe risk of insolvency.

The reality is that businesses need to fail from time to time in order for an economy to be successful. The public focus should move from bailing out businesses to ensuring strong governance and providing sufficient training for those who sadly lose their jobs as a result.

Very concerning times at Bury FC. I hope a deal can be reached before Friday. There must be a solution which can keep the club in the league.

Hoping to see my brother's old club, Bury FC, get its CVA approved.

Will be interested to see how the review of the collapse of British Steel plays out. Hopefully there will be a pair of experienced restructuring hands guiding the process.

Sorry to see Preston Guildhall has had to bring in administrators.

Apparently Monsoon is to join the evermore all encompassing list of retailers that have a sought a CVA.

Filmore and Union was always held out as a success story when it first started to grow. Sorry to see that it has gone into administration.

Outdoor & Cycle Concepts CVA (think Cotswolds and Snow & Rock) approved by 97% of creditors. Very strong majority.

Sad to see it's nearly over.

The number of CVAs are up 43% quarter on quarter.

Completely aligned with our experience but the statistics now confirm it: administrations in Q1 19 are up c22% against Q4 18.
