Just got a note from a reader whose father had four of his six grandchildren on lockdown in four different schools across Colorado this morning. While nobody was physically injured, what happened today cannot be forgotten.
A false report of a shooter at a school is despicable, no matter where it is. But to do it to #Boulder, where 10 people were killed only two years ago and police responded to a possible active shooter just two days ago, is just a special kind of cruel
UPDATE: #Boulder police Chief Maris Herold said 911 call reporting active shooter and bombs was made to sound authentic, down to "very realistic gun sounds." "It is very scary, in the background you can hear shots being fired."

The active fire has been put out. Firefighters are working to ensure the perimeter around the fire is safe and will be putting water on hot spots. #NorthShanahanRidgeFire

In other fire news - Yes, those of you driving past 27th and Baseline early this morning, you were not seeing things: #Boulder officials confirm there was a porta-potty on fire. Firefighters put it out, and there were no injuries. No word on possible cause yet
