The High Court decision to deny the right to appeal to #JulianAssange cements the precedent that journalists can be extradited from the UK and sentenced to hundreds of years in a foreign country for publishing documents that expose criminal behaviour.
The UN Special Rapportour on Torture @NilsMelzer told me on camera that the UK refused to do an investigation into the torture of #JulianAssange after he published his report. The UK has an obligation to investigate if there are reasonable grounds that torture was committed.
I’m saddened to hear that my friend #VivienneWestwood has passed away. She inspired me. She was a tireless campaigner for our our right to know, to speak, to breathe, to live. It’s our responsibility to continue her legacy to protect the earth and all of us that live in it.
