If there was any lingering doubt what the motivation of university administrators has been in planning for fall, it should now be gone. It is not safety. It is not mental health. It is not learning experience or pedagogy. It is not people.
What are we looking for? - clear communication with all groups on campus - consultation with all groups on campus - incorporating consultation and needs of the most vulnerable groups into any and all planning

Heartening to see that @uofg will be requiring PROOF OF VACCINATION for staff and students on campus in the fall. I'm proud of the work the community has done to get to this point, but I'm not proud that we had to do it. This should have happened a long time ago.
Students: if you are confused about the kerfuffle at UofG and why so many faculty & staff are upset, this is why. The community tried so hard to prepare well in advance. Then we tried to make the best of a challenging situation. And instead of being supported, we were ignored.

Woo! My article has just been accepted for publication in the Open Access journal @thePeerJ. What a great feeling. It's the first paper from my masters to get published, so this feels like a long time coming. They also keep calling me Dr. Ansell which is fun.
From now on I'm going to be absolutely ruthless to get what I want. No Ruths given. No Ruths taken. Every Ruth I know: deleted from contacts. Every Ruth I've ever had: returned without receipt.
