This morning I got hit by a car while I was crossing a crosswalk. It's strange, but getting up and being uninjured seemed to ease everyone's minds, despite how impossible it should have been. I feel like it really is true that they've said all along: people see what they want.
I thought I'd be less scared, but every time I hear a creak at night I worry about Hunter.
